Melina Wein is the Founder of M. Wein Realty (www.mweinrealty.com), the leading independent real estate firm on Shelter Island. Wein started her agency more than 25 years ago, and it continues to be run exclusively by knowledgeable and seasoned professionals who call the island their home. Wein fell in love with Shelter Island at a young age, moving there with her husband Marc in 1996. After working for another real estate firm on the island, she launched M. Wein Realty two years later and has continued to grow and expand the firm’s reputation ever since. One of Shelter Island’s most ardent fans, Wein possesses an encyclopedic knowledge of the island. She graduated from Skidmore College with a major in English history and a minor in art history. Wein is an active supporter of the Group for the East End as well as the Mashomack Preserve, the Peconic Land Trust and Sylvester Manor, a 243-acre historic plantation and nonprofit educational farm on Shelter Island. She also served for 13 years on the board of the Shelter Island Public Library.
